The Personal Dialogue

Face-to-Face Interview

Compared to the telephone or written survey, the interviewer and interviewee face each other during the interview.

The advantage is that the interviewer can motivate the respondent and is available for further questions.
This type of interview is especially suited for passers-by surveys, trade shows, expert meetings or similar situations.
The interviews are conducted by our professionally trained members of staff and the data can be made available to the customer in any form (data service).

The face-to-face interview can be conducted in two different ways:

PAPI: Traditional Method

The survey is conducted with paper and pencil on plain writing or record sheets.

The answers are coded and then automatically read in using a document scanner.

CAPI: Survey makes use of innovative interview technologies

A PDA, cell phone and a tablet PC is used for the survey.

Apart from methodical and economical reasons, the benefits are quite obvious:

  • The immediate processing of the data allows for an initial evaluation directly on location. Critical data content can thus be immediately checked.
  • The automatic filtering and plausibility checks improve the quality of the data.
  • Rotation and randomization of predefined answers prevent a sequence effect.
  • The fast electronic input reduces the time required for the interview and project.
